I was born and raised in Florence, Alabama. I have been married to Keith Graham since 1981. He is also from Florence. We went to Bradshaw High School and the University of North Alabama. I graduated from The University of North Alabama in 1982 with a degree in Home Economics, with a minor in Foods and Nutrition and in 1996 I earned my Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Alabama A&M University. I have been in public school since 1993 and private preschool for 5 years before that. In public schools I have worked with Title One, first grade, second grade and third grade. Keith and I have two daughters. Leah, is married to Craig Igo and is a 2nd grade teacher at Mill Creek. Abby, is married to Jeremy Cobb and works for Belzon. I also have 2 four legged children, Rocky and Shula.
I came to Columbia in 2006. I am also very involved with our church and at Mayfair I teach Kindergarteners on Sunday mornings, Vacation Bible School in the summer (in Huntsville and in Scotland) and I haved tutored Inner City children at the Inner City Church of Christ after school and during the summers in a program called LIFT. I love working with children, particularly elementary age children. I was fortunate enough to have been blessed with excellent teachers and I strive to give my students the same happy memories I have of my early years. If I had to say what I think is most important about my job, I would say it is to instill a true love for learning in all my students. I want my students to look forward to each school day. Never underestimate your importance in your child’s success. I’m glad to be on your child’s team!
